About this product

Recycled & Compostable Bags

There are two genuinely different products here and they are constantly confused. Recycled film is polyethylene made partly from post-consumer waste — usually 30 to 100 per cent — and it behaves and recycles exactly like ordinary polyethylene. Compostable film is a different material that breaks down in an industrial composting facility.

Which one is right depends almost entirely on local waste infrastructure, not on marketing. If your customers have industrial composting, compostable film is genuinely better. If they do not, a compostable bag ends up in landfill where it performs no better than plastic, and recycled film would have been the honest choice.
